National Parks of America - Deepest Lakes

It is often mentioned that United States is a place , which does not have much of history like some countries in Europe or Asia. If you click on your GPS the places of interest may not bring up addresses for palaces , forts or architectural wonders. But the GPS irrespective of the state you are in , is most likely to bring up an address of one national park or another.

This country has been gifted with lot of places which are spectacular in terms of the landscapes and its natural and scenic beauty. The country is a photographer's dream as he uses his canvas (the reel) and his brush (the lens) to capture some of the best images - of mountain peaks or Canyons against the great blue skies or the beautiful sight of rivers , lakes or waterfalls flowing through this mountains or the backdrop of never ending coasts hit by the wild waves from the magnificient Pacific Ocean . The beauty is enhanced multifold as this vast area of landscapes have been formed over years by mother nature working 24/7 - in form of ongoing or now dormant volcanic activity , erosion over years by rivers , wind or sea . Each place has its own uniqueness and America has treasured this gift and showcased it as America's -Best idea or the way to experience America - in the form of National Park Service.

In this first in the series on National Parks , I am covering the some of the great lakes and few others not so great lakes which are in and around Bay Area . Among the great are the Crater Lake and Lake Tahoe both of which find mention among the top ten list of deep lakes around the world. I am also covering in this post pictures of some not so famous waterbodies as they gave me equal pleasure for my eyes thru the lens - like the Lake Shasta , Lake Mead , Lake Berryessa , Lake Merrit , Lake Chabot etc
